I have tried several weight loss programs in the past 10 years of my untiring efforts for weight loss :) I did lose a lot of weight after my 1st kid but somehow slowly gradually gained back lot of extra pounds. Surprised! How can she talk about her weight like that. Well, time to get real I guess. I am overweight and that is the truth. I need to loose lot of pounds and that is a tough one I guess.
But then you know what? I guess I am more mature and way more practical now. I don't intend to loose them overnight or in a month or in a few months. It took me 10yrs to pack all these pounds I am going to give myself at least a year to come to a decent shape and a few more to shed all those extra pounds I gained.
One of my non desi neighbors, she said that she orders Nutrisystem once she gains over 10lbs. And she sheds those pounds in 2 months or so. She says she cannot afford to buy new pants (did I tell you they demolished their 3 bedroom house and rebuilt a mansion, a 6 bedroom house). Yeah!
Yesterday I saw her slimmer than ever and in perfect shape. I have another desi neighbor who has become slimmer than ever and is sporting very nice ultra cool slim clothing. The fact is all my close friends and cousins are slim and I am the only over weight person in the room when ever we meet. I did work really hard for weight loss eating really healthy, no junk food at all but somehow it is very hard for me to shed those pounds. But this time I want to try this new thing which works wonders and my neighbor vouches for it. She is not a vegetarian but I want to try this out. So, here I am. Ordered Nutrisystem Today and started this blog! Yeahhh!!!
I want to jot down my thoughts and progress through this blog. It will be a good reference for Indian vegetarians out there as I know how difficult it is to get good help with diet here in US for desi vegetarians. I am going to alter the program a little as and when I can't eat non desi food for long but I am going to be sensible enough with the portion sizes and ingredients to keep on track.
My second one's 1st birthday party is coming soon. Yet to send evite. Hmm. Need to get to that pronto!
So my current small, reasonable, tiny target is to loose at least 5 pounds by Oct 13th. I have 19 days to go.
I just ordered Today. They said it will take 4-7 business days for the shipment to arrive. I need to be creative and start dieting from Today i.e from dinner. I just had a Magnum Mini Belgian Choclate with ice cream which I got for my older one:) I wanted to celebrate the fact that I ordered Nitrisystem!
Wishing me good luck, I am going to write down my food journal in this blog. Who knows, I might end up a slimmer me after few months and this can become a reference guide for someone like me now to become the future me!
